On Friday, the 8th of September, I am going in for a quick surgery to update my Defibrillator.
Dr Harwood, who is my Electro-Physiologist wants to change out the Defib for a Pacemaker with an additional lead. Right now, I have one lead to the top of the heart. The Pacemaker will add a lead to the bottom of my heart.
Instead of having a Defibrillator that will pace me when needed, I am now getting a Pacemaker that will raise my heart rate and defib me as needed.
The hope is that with a faster heart rate, my stamina will improve. Right now, my daily heart rate seems to be around 50 beats per minute.
I don't know what the new rate will be but I will find that out and report it here.
